Mortality by Michael Wright

Mortality,
As we live towards the abyss,
A sudden sound of car brakes,
Or decades of decaying illness.

There is no order of time.
A millisecond. A hundred great years.
The natural enemy of life.
Ever victorious in erasing your private fears.

Mortality,
Some so afraid of death, they forget how to live it up.
While a mile down the road,
A brain-dead child's parents are scarred, forced to give it up.

A thief's blade in the void,
Wrong place and time of an earthquake.
A pilot's light goes out,
Sudden onset of headaches.

Mortality,
Unhealthy paranoia will never allow.
A hearty soul to flourish.
So, use this time like the clock could stop right now.
